This is another one of Minda Webbers engrossing tales of plays of lore, superstitions and famous people both real and fictional.

Miss Frankensteins uncle made the monster Frakenstein and she considers him to be a cousin. She wants to be as sucessful as the rest of her family so she decides to find proof of ghosts, vampires and other supernatural beings. She meets Baron Ian Huntsley who is determined to keep Claire from finding out about supernatural creatures by seduction. Throw in the mix of real and fictional characters like Edgar Allen Poe, Durlock Homes and Professor Whutson and you get an entertaining book.

MY TAKE:
I am in heaven. I just finished reading this book and I have missed my Argeneau family. Now that I have my fix, I can share my review with you. Lynsay has created another masterpiece book and it sits proudly with every other one of her books I own. I enjoyed this book. I loved her creativeness and witty humor that she is famous for. I love how Jo tells off the head of the family Lucian and everyone can't believe she is talking to a council member the way she is! She has fire and is a no nonsense heroine that fits perfectly with our rogue vampire on the run. I will never again read another vampire book without thinking of Shake and Bake chicken though. Trust me, read the book to get the pun because it is hilarious! The only thing that frustrated me about this book is the ending. It just stops. No explainations on how he is innocent and who frames Nicholas! I was thinking, maybe I am missing some pages, but nope. That's how it ends. Now I know Ms. Sands will explain in detail about it in her next book in this series, but come on! They don't come out fast enough to the book stores and I think not explaining an ending after reading a whole book is just a no-no. With that being said, Ms. Sands is still one of my favorite authors. I will continue reading her books and will never miss one of her new releases.

My Review -

I loved this book as much as I loved the first book, Nice girls don't have fangs. I could not put this down! Jane has such spunk and to see her deal with everyday things like her family, her boyfriend, her job but with the twists of her new vampire life in them. Then add her best friend marring a werewolf and both of their families plus the wedding....oh my!! I highly recommend this book!!

What can I say but I loved this book! Several times I just laughed at loud at Jane and her Antics! I love her Snarky comments and her developing relationship with Gabriel. This book is a breath of fresh air in the paranormal romance genre. I definately recommend it! :)

My Review -

This book contains the first 3 books in the Vampire series: Vampire Kisses, Kissing Coffins and Vampireville. I did enjoy reading this book. The plots are easy to follow, the characters likable and they are easy to read.

-In Vampire Kisses Raven has always wanted to be a vampire. Really. She lives in Dullsville and complains how boring it is and there is nothing to do. Alexander moves into town and she falls for him.

-Kissing Coffins starts with Raven wanting to find Alexander because he left Dullsville to protect her. She follows and searches for Alexander and meets Jasper while she looks....

-Vampireville starts with Raven and Alexander dating but they can only see each other at night....but they must also deal with Jasper and his twin sister Luna who have come to town to cause some trouble...

I do recommend this book, and it is great for younger readers too!

MY TAKE:

When I opened this book and read the prologue, I was ready to jump right into this book! Talk about capturing my interest on the first page! WOW! But, as I started reading this, I kind of got bored. It was just about teens trying to fit in at a new school and having to try to fit in with different groups in an odd school. Then WHAM! Halfway through the book the author pulls the ace out of her sleeve. She drops the vampire surprise on the reader. Now I knew this was going to have something featuring vampires, simply because it was in the paranormal vampire section of the library, but the author just surprises you with it in the middle of the book. Then of course you are hooked and can't put it down. It's like the author does a complete turn around with the writing and you become so engrossed in this book that you forget to feed your family dinner. (Yes, I almost forgot to cook until my 4 year old was whining about dinner). Then as if the one surprise wasn't enough, she pulls out more ace's from up her sleeve. I couldn't finish the chapters soon enough. I was desperate know what else would happen and what else the author had up her sleeve! I will say that I was a little disappointed in the ending. Yes, I had small tears in my eyes, but that wasn't what disappointed me. I was upset that there wasn't a tidy clean ending. You HAVE to read the next book in the series to find out what happens next. So now, I am going to have to wait ever so patiently for the library to finally reach my name on the wait list before I can continue the story. So, if you decide to read the book, I would recommend having the next one in the series ready to read! The next one had better have the ending I have pictured in my head or I will be in trouble. The third doesn't even come out until March 2010 and that is a lot of waiting!!

This is the first book in The Otherworld Series. In this book we get introduced to Elana Michaels and the werewolf pack. Elena and Clayton met and dated at college. He brings her home to meet his family (the pack) and bites her turning her into a werewolf. The book is based on her struggle to accept the wolf inside her and Clayton. I loved this book and the characters in it. It really is a must read!

My Review - 1/2

I had read this book when it first came out but recently won a signed copy and re-read it. I am so glad I did, I thoughly enjoyed the book. Milagro de los Santos is a well rounded character who I could easily see myself being friends with. The book made me laugh out loud several times gaining me some pretty funny looks from my family! You can just feel the chemistry between Milagro and Oswald and are thirsty for more! I know I am and I can't wait to read book 2 which is Midnight Brunch at Casa Dracula!

My Take:
Emma Holly does it again with another great book. This is the second book in her Fitz Clare Chronicles and it starts out where the last one left off. Edmund has been kidnapped by vampires Frank and Li-Hau and he is completely helpless to free himself because of all the iron bullets still in his body. His eldest son decides to take drastic measures to save Edmund from the enemy to help his guilt subside and to bring Edmund home. Together the family has to come as a group and save him. We get to reconnect with previous characters and even get to meet some new ones.
Estelle learns that she has more powers than she first thought, Sally matures in this book, Graham enlists Robin's special help, and Ben makes a decision about his true love.
There are still plenty of sensual scenes and history in this book, but the rescue of Edmund is still the front story. You will laugh, cry and even get angry thoughout the process of reading this book, but you will also want to add it to your collection as a great book to read time and time again.
The ending also gives us something to look forward to in the final installment of this series. It sets the scene up to where we know what to look forward to as Edmund and his family go on to the next chapter of their lives together.

Here is my review:

Fanged & Fabulous was the second book in the Immortality Bites series. After reading Michelle Rowen's first book in this series, Bitten & Smitten, I couldn't wait to read this book. I can say there were many campy vampy funny scenes in this book. Plenty of smarty lines that we come to expect from the character Sarah. But I found myself in a hurry to get to the end. At times I wanted to smack Thierry around, her boyfriend. Not only was I frustrated with the way the characters were acting, but the plot was repetitive to me. All in all it was a good quick read and a great break from the usual paranormal romance I read. If you read the first book, and truly enjoyed it, I would still recommend this book!

Bitten & Smitten by Michelle Rowan

Instead of the usual hot and sexy paranormal romance book, I decided to review a lighthearted paranormal romance. Bitten & Smitten by Michelle Rowen was campy, vampy, and so much fun to read. Imagine going out on a blind date that decides to turn you into a vampire without telling you, getting chased by vampire hunters, and jumping off a bridge all in one night. Then having to find a new vampire to teach you the ropes, that just happens to be the oldest vampire in town, and falling madly in love with him. I was hooked on the first page of this book and the laughs continued from there. If I was the heroine in this book, I would be making me a bloody mary drink and sharpening me a wooden stake just to end my misery of all the stuff she goes through. But of course, I would do it with a smile on my face like she does. This is truly a modern, present day girls guide to being a vampire. Here is the back of the book:
